When you look at a tree you don’t see the whole tree. It has a massive support system of roots that dig deep into the soil. The bigger the tree, the bigger the root system underground. The same is true in our spiritual lives, the deeper we build our foundation in Christ the more we can grow in Him.

A foundation is the first thing you build when you are building a structure. It’s made to withstand extreme temperatures and to support a heavy load. Just like a building needs a foundation so do our spiritual lives. And it shouldn’t be built on anything other than Jesus Christ.

It’s because of what Jesus did on the cross that we can have hope for tomorrow. He bridged the gap between God and man. Going through life trying to face all these challenges by ourselves will destroy us. We need God to help carry us through the hard times and the good times.
