How does Jesus work in His Church to make us like that lamp stand? One piece of pure gold shaped by a hammer to give light in the holy of holies. The hammer of God is shaping us so that we become what He wants us to be. Right now it might not look like the shape He wants it to, but he is working on that. Many look at the state of the church and complain about it. But the Lord is still working on that church.
